"Why can't I light the campfire?"
The Answer: You are likely using standard Wood or Logs. In Outbound, you need specific Redwood to ignite your first fire.
1. Where to find Redwood
Redwood is not obtained by cutting trees (most trees are protected in the early game). Look for fallen dry branches on the ground that have a distinct reddish tint. These are commonly found near the Western Beach and the Old Forest edges.
2. The Lighting Process
- Place the Campfire blueprint.
- Add 2x Stone and 1x Redwood to the build.
- Use the Flint tool (crafted with 2x Pebble) to strike the fire.
3. Common Mistake
Do not confuse Redwood with "Hardwood" found later. Hardwood is for van construction, while Redwood is specifically for high-heat ignition.
